Supercapacitor technology was among the the seven Ukrainian High-tech projects successfully presented to American capital investors during Silicon Valley Open Doors investment conference, which took place in Stanford University on 14-16th of November 2005. All the projects have been selected during Ukrainain Hich-Tech Competition, organized by Ukrainian venture capital firm TechInvest in partnership with Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Ukrainian high-tech projects were successfully presented to over 50 US capital investors.
The opening speeches at the conference were delivered by Max Levchin, the cofounder of PayPall payment system, and representative of Blue Ventures, venture investor of PayPall. PayPall was bought by Google for $1,5 bil. two years ago, and after that Max Levchin became a multimillionaire. Participants of the conference were surprised to find out that Max, who is now 30 years old, received his basic mathematical education in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The “Ukraine - new opportunities for venture capital investments” Panel took place during the SVOD Conference. The panel showed great interest in Ukraine. As a result, not everybody who wanted to participate could fit into the room allocated for the Panel. The attractiveness of Ukrainian for high-tech business was presented by Sergey Loboyko and Roman Kyzyk (TechInves), Vladimir Bilodid (Ukrainian company United Software Corporation ),Daniel Dargham (president of “Lohika“), Juha Christensen (ex-vice-president of Microsoft, CEO of Sonopia Corporation) and Drew Clark (IBM).
